Friday was a regular Friday, with Donald there at supper. Fish to eat, but no hush puppies this time; the plea of underlining failed to influence the dietary powers that be this time. Too cold to sit outside too.
Saturday Tim and Michelle took Kyleigh and went over at lunch and took mom a happy meal. I think that's what happened because there was a strange new toy on the table by the time I got there. She said they went to Bojangles and brought it back. Then they were out back in the garden and ate in the sun.
Thing is she said it was a hamburger. Bojangles does not have burgers to the best of my knowledge. And she said she had fries. So, I say happy meal from McDonalds.
In either case she enjoyed it a lot. Michelle painted her nails this pretty red and of course her hairs were done earlier so she had a great day.
Terry called her also and they had a good talk. Marilyn came by at supper and gave her an Easter egg with kisses in it.
Sunday I picked her up at 1230 to go to David and Pats for lunch. She had not been to the bathroom so I doubled back down the hall and went to the room to ring the bell. It took over 30 minutes and that was only because I finally had to go to the bathroom myself and passed a cna in the hallway. She was not working that hall but went down to help mom anyway.
We both finished up about the same time and I got her in the van easily enough and we headed off. Pat had a great lunch ready with biscuits, roast and mushroom gravy, green beans, corn on the cob, some brawtwurst, and David had roasted some brussells sprouts- correctly spelled as Pat pointed out, something none of us knew until then. It was all great. She had an apple pie and a cherry pie to finish it off.
We visited in the living room until almost four when we got in the van and I took her to her house. We stopped on the porch and I took her to see her lilac bush there on the edge. It's over 9 years old I guess. Then we went inside. There Drake greeted her with the usual wiggling. We read the diary in the kitchen for this date in 1941. She ended it "goo' bye" which I had never seen "goo'" before!
There was a photo of her friend Gladys Outz in there. She said later "I wonder if I will ever get to live here again." I told her I hoped so. "I hope so too" she said. I told her Drake and I both would love to have her food again.
We left there a little before five and went to the graveyard. She did not approve of the lilies I had put on the grave because they are not as large as the ones in her room and pointed to some behind dad's that were more acceptable. I told her I'd take care of it.
We headed back to the facility after that, and after our effort to get a chocolate cone from McDonalds was thwarted as they were out of chocolate.
I called her later after I went home and took Drake out to tell her goodnight. She said Julio had just stopped in to see her. Cable is still out, since Friday. Another resident's relative said her son had called to complain and they told him he had to have an account number. I said I bet Action 9 would not need an account number.
