It's 34 degrees here as I type this at 839pm and it just came a massive clap of thunder. Strange.
I called mom's room on my way to lunch a little after 1pm.She answered and said she was having a day like any other. She said David had called and told her about Pat's cold this morning. She said she wished she could take it from her and have the cold herself if it would keep her from having it. She had some type of blueberry or blackberry dessert, said it had some seeds in it, she couldn't tell which type it was. I asked her if she had heard anything about getting a perm and she hadn't.
She said when David called this morning she thought she was talking to me until after a few minutes she realized it was him. I called back about 7pm tonight when I got off work and she said she was doing ok. She said she had another shower episode today, that she refsued to take on, didn't need it. She said she could take a sponge bath. I asked her if she had one of those and she hadn't. Donald asked her to ask me if it was me would I take one and I told her I would. She said that's because I'm a man and showers were built for men not women. So I don't know what's going to come of that. She said Batchie came by again today too so I know she appreciated the company.
I realized tonight that it's been a long time since I heard her say something that sounded like she feels down. Hopefully she's adjusted to what's happened and is getting used to her surroundings and the people. Maybe that will help her get her physical strength back too. Also there was a story on Current TV about a lady who was having to take care of her 62 year old mother and as an only child she was lamenting that her she was taking care of her mom and her mom was relying on her and asking her advice on things when she had expected that she would be asking her mom and relying on her mom for support. I'm thankful that mom still has her mind and is able to still give us advice and tell us to "be careful" and all that jazz.
